OTOL East Coast RailFest 2014

East Coast RailFest 2014 visited various locations along the East Coast in Philadephia, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. The goal was to fill in rail segments or stations that we had not yet done together as a group.

Saturday 1/18/14 Started at Walnut/Locust or City Hall, rode north on the Broad Street Subway to Girard. East on Girard on the #15 trolley to its newer endpoint at Franklin & Delaware. Then returned on this trolley north and west to Market Frankford Girard Station. Boarded Market Frankford Line southbound/eastbound towards Center City, and rode to 30th Street. Walked to 30th Street Station.

From 30th Street Station, took NJT Atlantic City Line to Pennsauken Transit Center. Switched to NJT RiverLINE northbound, to Trenton Transit Center. Had lunch there at Trenton Transit Center, then rode NJT Northeast Corridor Line from there to Newark. PATH train from Newark to Exchange Place in Jersey City. Walked to Hudson-Bergen LRT (HBLRT) and take southbound to 8th Street in Bayonne. Returned on same equipment from 8th Street to Hoboken Terminal. Participants took PATH from there into the city.

Sunday 1/19/14 Activity began with meeting at Grand Central Terminal for a ride up to New Haven. One hour allotted there for lunch. Then took Shore Line East train eastbound to New London. Returned towards New York City or other final points on Amtrak Regional #163.
