Streetcars and buses in New Orleans are run by New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (NORTA). Base fare on all streetcars and local buses for a single ride is $1.25 . Fares can be paid by exact cash or via a number of passes.

Unlimited travel instruments are called Jazzy Passes. They come in 1-day, 3-day, 5-day, and 31-day denominations. The one-day Jazzy Pass costs $3.00, and is invalid when sold, but it becomes valid upon first use and is good for a 24-hour period. Thus if your first use is 9:00 AM, it will be usable until 9:00 AM the following day. If purchased via the Go Mobile app, it MUST, however, be used within 14 days of purchase, so be careful of when you buy it. If you will be using the streetcars to get to & from New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal on our evening of arrival on the Crescent as well as our morning of departure on the Sunset Limited, you might want to consider the three-day Jazzy Pass, for $9.00, which would be valid for your entire stay in New Orleans.

Jazzy Passes can be purchased from any bus driver or streetcar operator upon first boarding. They can also be bought online, various vendors, and ticket vending machines at 4 locations along the Canal Streetcar line.

Children ages 2 and under can travel for free. Ages 3 and over must pay full fare. Seniors ages 65 and over, with ID or US Passport proof of age, can travel for a one-way fare of 40 cents. There is also a disabled fare for 40 cents, but one must get a special ID card from NORTA before being allowed to use this fare. There are no discounts offered on Jazzy Passes for seniors or disabled.

NORTA offers a Go Mobile App which allows you to load one of the Jazzy Passes, and then display it as you travel. There is, however, a small "convenience fee" added to the cost of your Jazzy Pass (website does not give exact amount but it is based on the amount of purchase).

"Official" Fest rides will be taken on Friday, July 13th. If you will be using streetcars (and/or local buses) only this day, the $3 One-Day Jazzy Pass should be sufficient.
