OTOL Virginia RailFest 2017 was another Winter meet of railfans. We rode Amtrak trains out of Washington, DC to points in Virginia, and return. In addition, we finally rode the DC Streetcar.
Without much new along the east coast to ride this Winter, taking trips into Virginia was suggested. It allowed us to take advantage of the plentiful and relatively inexpensive hotels in the Washington, DC area.
Saturday's activity was a round trip between Washington and Richmond, using the Palmetto southbound and the Carolinian northbound. Then on Sunday, after a morning round trip on DC Streetcar, we rode to Charlottesville and back on the Cardinal.
