Boston "T" Party 2002 was a confluence of railfans who rode various rail lines in the Boston area over the weekend of July 19-21, 2002. It was open to anyone who wanted to participate and enjoy the company of other railfans.
Boston "T" Party 2002, included:
Rides on all three MBTA heavy rail subway lines.
Rides on almost all of the MBTA light rail lines, including three of the the four branches of the Green Line and the Mattapan Line.
Rides on all or part of several MBTA commuter rail lines.
A short trip on AMTRAK's DOWNEASTER train.
One bus ride that traced the route of the dormant Arborway trolley line.
Saturday was a 12-hour day. Base of operations was Braintree, MA, where we stayed at a Motel-6 adjacent to both the Red Line
and the Old Colony commuter rail lines. (Participants were free to stay anywhere they chose.) There was also some rail riding on Friday afternoon and Sunday morning.
