OTOL Pacific Coast RailFest 2016 featured a revisit to three West Coast cities we had been to before in order to ride rail lines that were not in service when we were there last. Seattle had a new section of LINK light rail open, as well as a second streetcar line called First Hill. In Portland, the MAX Orange Line was ridden down to Milwaukie, while the Portland Streetcar offered us two new loops that run to and from the east bank of the Willamette River. Finally in Los Angeles, new to us was the East L.A. section of the Gold Line, the Foothill extension of the Gold Line beyond Pasadena to Azusa, and the entire Expo Line west of the city to Santa Monica. Another new feature was this group's ride on the Coast Starlight, which we took from Portland to Los Angeles. We also rode the Cascades one way between Seattle and Portland, and took a round trip on the Pacific Surfliner between Los Angeles and Solana Beach.
